About Dan Walker
My background in customer service, computer networking and internet marketing and sales begins back in the mid 90's, with a stint doing technical support and website design for a local internet service provider in beautiful Kingston, Ontario. I followed this with an incredible learning experience, fully immersed in the art of online marketing and advertising with a small and dynamic marketing firm.
Surrounded by intelligent people and with the help of key mentors, I was able to fully explore how to make things happen on the internet. Our primary client was a huge online gaming concern, and their need to drive traffic to their sites meant I had a wide berth in which to play with ideas, grow communities around websites of my own, and learn the technologies behind it all. You name the marketing technique - I've probably tried it!
Having gained a greater understanding of client service with other opportunities since then, I've plunged myself fully into danwalker.ca, building a small but loyal client base. I aim to provide excellent support for my work, and wish to sell the strong belief that a simple, clean website is best for usability and marketing results.
Of course, I'm not all boring marketing talk! I love to spend time with my family here in Ottawa, and take my bike out on the streets and trails of this beautiful city whenever I can. (Which is to say, when it's not snowing.) I'm a big fan of live music, and enjoy a drink at the local pub from time to time, too.
